SPORTS PURCHASES RARE 1947 H.R.G 1500
1 of just 111 HRG’s 1500’s produced, Originally supplied by H.R.G agent Dellow Motors Ltd of Birmingham, Original registration number FNP 777, Previously owned by Kenneth Delingpole (Co-owner of Dellow Motors Ltd) who successfully campaigned FNP 777 in many endurance trails in the late 1940s, Fascinating complete and comprehensive history from new including original service booklet and many letters of correspondence from HRG engineering, FNP 777 has covered just 55,000 miles from new and remains totally original having never been restored. 
FNP 777 now resides in a private collection.

& PRESS DEMONSTRATOR 1965 LOTUS S3 COUPE LNK
120C
The most significant baby Elan in existence, LNK 120C is the original Prototype, Earls Court Motor Show car and Press Demonstrator Elan S3 Coupe endorsed by Colin Chapman and has a unique place in Lotus history, Medici Blue with Black trim, Unique Factory specification includes Factory Blueprinted engine, Simpler bonnet springs, Marston high capacity radiator, Early type split top hose, Single engine cooling fan, Unique headlamp micro switches, Early cam cover, Round oil filler cap, Early wood rim steering wheel, Lotus Green and Yellow horn push, Pre airflow body, Chromed backed rear view mirrors, Seat belts, Radiomobile push button stereo, Aluminium kick plates fitted to door cards, Door mounted electric window switches, Chrome wheels, Lined and carpeted boot area, Rear compartment access as specified by Colin Chapman for his Golf clubs ! The shell was produced early 1965 and was an on–going development process right up to its formal launch to the press in September that year, Registered with the famous Lotus Demonstration/Press 120 Hertfordshire registration number, LNK 120C was shown at the Earls Court Motor show in September 1965 and was used as a Press car during the launch, LNK120C served as a factory demonstrator and was used by Lotus Sales Director Graham Arnold to visit numerous dealers throughout the UK and overseas. He clocked up some 50,000 miles during one busy year - therefore providing convincing evidence for European dealers, who could see for themselves just how reliable, given the correct maintenance the Elan could be, In 1968 on Graham Arnold instructions the LNK 120C was painted Black by the Lotus factory for the legendary Motor Racing World Champion Jim Clark’s funeral, LNK 120C has a fascinating detailed provenance, Documented in numerous books and press releases of the period, As featured in the following records/books/magazines . . . OUR ALVIS VISITS THE CAT INN'S ANNUAL CLASSIC CAR DAY
The Cat Inn in West Hoathly was surrounded by more than 60 vintage cars on Sunday for the pub's second annual classic car day.The event attracted the largest number of visitors yet. Pub owner Nick White said: "We are all very keen on vintage cars and classic cars. We have got a lot of customers who own them so we get them all to bring the best cars along. "The cars were parked at the pub car park and surrounding area, and a number of different vehicles were showcased. Some of the classics included the 1922 ex Sir Henry Seagrave Grand Prix Sunbeam (Pictured above on the right) and a 1927 Supercharged Alvis Silver Eagle (Pictured above on the left). Mr White added: "It was a very busy day, absolutely packed out and I think everyone enjoyed it."We were very lucky with the weather. "The event will be taking place next year, but the date has not yet been confirmed. Mr White hopes to host the event in July so as not to coincide with visitors summer holidays. He added: "There were a couple of hundred people here who haven't got cars who came along to have a look.

SPORTS PURCHASES 1929 ALVIS SILVER EAGLE SUPERCHARGED SPECIAL
Car number 12580 was dispatched by the works on 20th July 1929 to Henlys Ltd of London. Originally fitted with coupe coachwork by Carbodies, It was subject to a 5 year transformation by respected Vintage car restorer Rod Jolley at a cost of over £120,000. Its beautifully hand crafted 2 seater polished aluminum bodywork incorporates an under tray, boat tail mounted fuel tank and mudguards. This much modified Special employs an OHV straight-six engine mated to a 4 speed crash gearbox, employing a supercharger (Godfrey unit being fed by an SU carburettor complete with twin float bowls). Benefiting from an oil cooler, BTH magneton, To cope with the vastly increased performance, it utilizes all round Andre Hartford shock absorbers and 14" hydraulic drum brakes. Painted dark green (to match its 19" wire wheels), the ladder frame chassis is tapered at the front and carries a Marles steering box. Purchased from Rod Jolley by renowed collector Dick Van Dijk in June 1999, This exciting Alvis had been used sparingly until it's purchase by ourselves in 2005.

SPORTS PURCHASES TIME WARP 2,700 MILE FROM NEW 1968 DAIMLER 250 V8

Opalescent Golden Sand with full Red leather, Very rare manual with overdrive (1 of only 250 manuals produced), Original UK RHD example, Supplied new by Daimler Main Dealer Loxley’s of Kent to Mr Blackburn of Kent on the 16th May 1968. After the death of Mr Blackburn in late 1968 TYV 686F was purchased back by Mr Magrow (Managing Director of Loxley’s Daimler) and preserved, maintained and kept in heated storage until 1983 when TYV 686F was sold to collector Mr De Lury with circa 2,200 recorded miles. In 1991 TYV 686F was sold to collector Mr Mouskas of London with circa 2,500 recorded miles. TYV 686F has now covered just 2,700 miles from new, Complete with fascinating comprehensive history file including Original sale invoice, Original registration of ownership car, Original owners handbook, Original service book, Original buff log book, Original Loxley's keyring, Old MOT's, Old Tax discs, The historic division of the factory have confirmed this Daimler to have the lowest known recorded mileage of any other surviving car of the MK2/V8 250 series. This Daimler was also featured in the book Daimlers and Jaguars by renowned expert Robert Hughes, A time warp Daimler V8 which has covered just 2,700 miles from new.
TYV 686F now resides in a Swiss collection.

NUTLEY SPORTS PURCHASES MULTI CONCOURS WINNER EX KENT CONSTABULARY
1947 MG TC
Black with full Regency Red leather, TC3110 has a fascinating history - It was 1 of only 30 MG TC's purchased new from Messrs Gatward & Sons Ltd MG Dealer of Maidstone on the 17th July 1947 for £497 by the Kent County Constabulary for the Traffic Department and collected from the Abingdon works. An original UK RHD example retaining its original registration number JKR 411, Matching numbers. Total nut & bolt concours restoration to original Police specification/livery just 2,000 miles ago. Complete with working Winkworth Police bell ! Fascinating comprehensive history file including original TC owner's manual, original buff log book and a letter of provenance from Chief Superintendent Brice of Kent County Constabulary. L & R Models have even made a model of JKR 411 in 1/43rd scale. JKR 411 is winner of many concours events including the Autoglym Premier Concours event. In April 2006 JKR 411 was invited to parade at the 80th Birthday celebrations of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

from Heathrow to Dulles, Virginia and later, it sitting in front
of my house with the old suitcase Matthew gave us.
PS - I will attach a photo of the 1947 Virginia license plate, which
is co-registered here with the? UK JKR 411 - the TC has been given
"dual citizenship" by Virginia.

I wanted you to know that JKR 411 traveled to the Virginia Scottish
Games (www.vascottishgames.org) and while there were no official
awarded or judging, the 1947 TC was admired by all. It also traveled
the open highway just wonderfully, I think the TC is getting to
be very much at home over here. JKR 411 was surrounded by MG's,
Morgans, Bentleys, Triumphs, Rolls Royce's, and even a Riley Imp
- I'll attach a photo of part of the line-up - but with 125 cars
in the show, it was difficult to include all. I hope all is well
- I told several people of your wonderful service - so perhaps you
will have to deal with more of us on this side of
the pond.

Hello Matthew, JKR 411 continues to fit in here in the states. ?
Just last weekend, the city of Alexandria, Virginia had the Scottish
Christmas Walk parade and the MG TC represented the British Embassy
- see attached photo. ?As you can imagine, I've been throughly enjoying
this wonderful old car all summer and fall. ?The car was exactly
as you stated, a wonderful restoration and a pleasure to drive.
?It's starting to get chilly in Virginia, so perhaps, with no windows
nor heater, the car may have a few months off.

Dear Matthew, You may remember that JKR 411, has just celebrated
it's first year here in the states. In addition to winning every
car show it has entered, it continues to delight not only the people
who admire it, but has given me priceless pleasure to drive and
enjoy this distinguished automobile. Just yesterday I drove down
to the the US Capitol Building in the early evening and the setting
sun, the Capitol Building and the lovely TC created a wonderful
photo - which is attached. One of the special police asked to have
his cruiser phographed with the TC. The car continues to run flawlessly.

Signal Red with Biscuit leather, An original UK RHD example retaining it's original registration number LMC 1C. This stunning MKII 3.4 Jaguar had been subject to a total nut & bolt photographic concours restoration over a 3 1/2 year period. LMC 1C has qualified for the Auto Glym National Concours finals no less that 4 times, most recently the 2006 Auto Glym Championship at Eynsham Hall, where it won 1st place. Complete with comprehensive history file including a 6 page article, featuring LMC 1C in the December 2003 issue of Practical Classics Magazine plus a recent newspaper report referring to the latest Auto Glym competition.
LMC 1C now resides in a private Jaguar collection.

"HARRY'S CAR" - JAGUAR XK120 . . . A VERY SPECIAL
RAFFLE (May 2005)
"Harry’s
Car” was originally built in 1951, the first year of Jaguar’s
historic 3 year winning sequence at Le Mans. The car was lovingly
restored by Peter Sidebottom for his son Harry. Tragically, Harry
died in a car accident in 1999, aged just 24. Peter very kindly
donated the car to be raffled to raise funds and awareness for the
much-needed work of the Child Bereavement Trust. Peter Sidebottom,
Harry’s mother, Flappy Lane Fox and sister Lottie Sidebottom
have been keen supporters of the activities of The Child Bereavement
Trust and its fundraising.
Since Harry Sidebottom, a much-loved son and brother, died in a
car crash 5 years ago, his parents, Peter Sidebottom and Flappy
Lane Fox, and sister Lottie Sidebottom have kindly supported the
work of The Child Bereavement Trust.
Thanks to the generosity of Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials,
The Child Bereavement Trust has been chosen as the nominated charity
for the May 2005 Three Day Event. To maximise awareness of the charity
and raise funds for there much needed work, they are to raffle this
very special car, which was intended for Harry and which has been
generously donated to the Child Bereavement Trust.
The draw is to take place on 8th May 2005.
HANDOVER OF "HARRY'S CAR" (June 2005)
Jenny Whitmore of West Sussex was delighted to be
the winner of our “Harry’s Car Raffle” when the
winning ticket (341634) was drawn at the Mitsubishi Badminton Horse
Trials on Sunday 8th May. She is now the proud owner of a beautiful
Jaguar XK 120, which was donated to the charity by Peter Sidebottom
in memory of his son Harry.
Jenny is very sympathetic to the Child Bereavement Trust as she
experienced the tragedy of bereavement when her elder brother lost
two sons, one in a car accident and one in a motorbike accident.

Lady Jenny Whitmore has sold "Harry’s Car"
to renowned specialist Nutley Sports & Prestige Centre, which
she won in the the raffle, and passed on the proceeds to two leading
national charities – The Child Bereavement Trust and The Down
Syndrome Educational Trust.
Lady Jenny Whitmore won “Harry’s Car” –
a beautifully restored Jaguar XK120 – in a raffle in aid of
the Child Bereavement Trust at the Mitsubishi Badminton Horse Trials
in 2005.
Ann Chalmers, Chief Executive of The Child Bereavement Trust said,
“It was my great pleasure to call Lady Whitmore from Badminton
last year to let her know she had won the classic Jaguar so generously
donated to the charity in memory of Harry Sidebottom. We are so
grateful that our work in helping bereaved families when a child
dies or when children are bereaved is being further supported through
Lady Whitmore’s wonderful gesture.”
Lady Whitmore has a grandson with Down syndrome who has benefited
from services provided by The Down Syndrome Educational Trust. “We
would like to thank Lady Whitmore for her kind support,” said
Howard Hurd, Head of Funding at The Down Syndrome Educational Trust,
“As a result of Lady Whitmore’s amazing generosity we
will be able to help many more children and young people with Down
syndrome across the country".
